Energy-plus apartment building from a former single family home

In the course of a trendsetting refurbishment, a former single family house in Steffisburg (canton of Bern) was converted into an apartment building with three apartments.

At the same time, the total energy use was reduced by two thirds, creating an energy-plus building in the process. The 138.5 m2, south-facing roof surface is fitted with a roof-integrated Meyer Burger MegaSlate® solar system, generating more than 19,000 kWh a year.

This refurbishment is a highly innovative modernization, both from the architectural and building services perspectives, for which our MegaSlate® solar system proved the ideal solution.
